CODE OF CONDUCT FOR PARENTS/SPECTATORS AT

THE FRANK BRUNO BOXING ACADEMY

Parents/Spectators can have a great influence on children’s enjoyment and success in boxing. All children who participate in the sport of boxing do so because they first and foremost enjoy the sport – at a young age it is very rewarding. It is important to remember that however good a child becomes at boxing within your club it is important to reinforce the message to parents/spectators that positive encouragement will contribute to:

·     Children enjoying the sport of boxing.

·     A sense of personal achievement.

·     An improved self-esteem and physical wellbeing.

·     Improving the child’s skills, techniques and confidence.

A parent’s/spectator’s expectations and attitudes have a significant bearing on a child’s attitude towards:

·     Other boxers/club members.

·     Officials/Coaches.

·     Spectators.

Ensure that parents/spectators within your club are always positive and encouraging towards all of the children, not just their own. Encourage parents/spectators to:

·     Applaud the opposition as well as your own boxer/club member.

·     Avoid coaching the child during the bout/training/sparring session.

·     Not to shout and scream.

·     Respect the Referee’s/Official’s decision.

·     Give attention to each of the children involved in boxing not to just the most talented.

·     Give encouragement to everyone whom participates in boxing.

·     Respect the decision/actions of the opposing team coaching staff and if any concerns need to be raised do so in an appropriate manner at an appropriate time.

·     Parents must keep an eye on younger non-members or spectators who are very young and are not participating in the session.

Ensure that other parents/spectators within your Club agree and adhere to your Club’s Code of Conduct.

General Gym Rules

·     It is up to the coaches discretion whether Parents/Careers are welcome in the gym. If you are in the gym please keep noise to a minimum. If the coach asks parents/careers to leave the gym please do so.

·     No Swearing

·     The gym is a water only zone.

·     The coach has final say on all matters in the gym.

·     Any queries about Safeguarding please speak to the Club Welfare officer. Details can be found in the in the foyer of the gym.

·     Any other queries please speak to Brandon Eldred Details in the foyer of the gym.

·     No Photography or recording in the gym at anytime.
